White gums Farm and York, WA.

We were looking for some place to camp over the Easter period so that we were mainly off the busy roads. Well, Whitegum Farm was ideal. This camp ground is still "work in progress" but the facilities as they currently are were OK for us and the tariff at $20 per night for power and water was very easy to cover as well. White gum Farm is somewhat "off the beaten track" but at about 30 km to York and about 40 km to Northam we were able to visit both towns with ease. Garth, the camp manager, made us very welcome and on Saturday night with the aid of Mary provided all the camp visitors with 'endless' pizzas at $10 per person. This bought all camp patrons together for a very enjoyable social night. I don't know how Garth organised this astronomical event but we were also treated to an Earth/Lunar Eclipse. It really was a "Blood Moon".

One day we drove into Northam to secure supplies to last us over the Easter period. On another day we drove into York to be part of The York Easter Fair. I also spent time making further modifications to the caravan, It will be an entirely different unit by the time we reach home again.

Hangers 2 and 3. There are 5 Hangers in total. I am actually standing on the Runway. White gum Farm is also an Ultralight Aircraft Training School.

This is one huge dam that is still filling, very slowly I might add.

The water level will eventually reach up to the Wave Abatement Rocks around the rim of the dam. The dam is also stocked with Silver Perch. Angling is allowed but the fish must be returned alive.

This 'Tree Trunk' chair is quite comfortable and The Emu Export Beer goes down well too. Emu is 'the' beer for over here. Emu Bitter is also a good taste.

Part of the York main Street, Avon Street. York is WA's oldest inland town so it has many historic buildings still standing. The 100 year high water mark from the Avon River is about 800 mm up the shop walls.
